Herbert is spoiled by Dual 24" displays at the office, and longed for the day to replicate the setup at home. 24" displays are fairly widely available in so-called HD (1080p) aka 1920x1080. Sadly this remains lower resolution than CRTs of 20 years ago!

Recently Herbert found a great deal (that appears to continue for Sept 2013) on these 24" Dell Displays at 1920x1200! These displays can be driven by DisplayPort, DVI or HDMI. Currently its being driven by DisplayPort by an 24" iMac, and it works just fine.

BTW: Did you know that the new Macintosh Thunderbolt ports are the same connector as mini-DisplayPort and can drive a DisplayPort device! [To be clear an old mini-DisplayPort cannot drive a Thunderbolt device]
